This Message Board is exclusively for astronomy. We'd appreciate if you would confine your subjects to that area. Thx. -|Tom|-

Alan,
Please post your experiences in the Artificial Structures on Mars forum. I'm sure some people there would be very excited if you could have a hypnogogic foray over to Mars to check out a few things for them.

jrich,
Are you serious?, I feel unwelcome in this forum and did not join it to be made fun of.

Alan

My apologies. I assumed you knew this was a meta-science board, not a pseudo-science board (well...with the exception of the aforementioned Mars forum).

Alan,
Before you go away mad, let me take a shot at this. Please take these comments in the spirit they are intended.
I went back and read all your posts up to date so that I could formulate a response that I believe is an accurate representation of the problem you are facing with your posts.
At first I thought perhaps you were just choosing the wrong forum, but after reading all your posts and then looking through all the forums I realize that it's not that you're choosing the wrong forum, it's that there really is no forum here that matches up with what you are attempting to do (in my opinion).
{Aside: my response doesn't belong on any forum either, but I couldn't see any other way of doing this}
The problem you appear to be facing is caused by the fact that most of what you are writing is either:
a) Already well known by anyone who has read at least one good book on astronomy in his life. Most of the members here (not including myself) have not only read at least one good book on the subject, but are highly knowledgeable in the subject, to say the least. Not that that fact would preclude them from discussing the subject, but you are not presenting a subject in a manner to be discussed. You appear to be putting it out there as if you are telling someone something they didn't already know.
b) Add to (a) the fact that at the end of your comments of known facts, you are throwing in some highly speculative idea (like one might see in science fiction) , like "maybe there's a portal from here to the other side of the universe", or something of that nature. In most cases there is very little a person could say to something like that, except maybe, "well yeah, maybe" or "how about this theory" {whereupon they comeback with another highly speculative theory}.
In some cases your whole post has been highly speculative as described in (b), in which case readers are wondering what it's doing here.
In other words, there is no forum for what you are doing here. If there was a "Speculation" forum, or something of that nature, you might actually drum up some real interest, if for no other reason than it might be sort of fun. When I was reading all of the books of Gamow or Asimov or Sagan, and the like, I was always coming up with one far out theory or another. For instance, I remember being convinced once that there was a physical direction that I called "in" or "out", and that the really small (sub-atomic particles) were no different than the really big (planets, galaxies, clusters, etc.) with the exception of the fact that they were in opposite directions on my in/out line, and that one day man would figure out a way to travel in the "in" direction, and if he went far enough, he would end up in the out direction, and return back to earth from the sky.
Ok, so as you can see, you're not the only one with farout theories, it's just there is really no forum here for them. To be honest, I'm not quite sure where they belong. I tried googling "science speculations", and the first site I went to opened with line about how evil Bush is, so I'm not sure what kind of luck you would have with that approach, either.

Rd,
Thank you for your kind response. The term "Meta Research" should indicate interest outside classical scientific thought. So I believe this forum is using the incorrect even misleading title.
Without speculation we humans might still be sitting in a cave, without fire trying in vain to crack open a nut with a rock, dying of starvation.
I belong to a number of forums where I am a senior and welcome member adding much to the interest and debate.
Here are A few of the forums I inhabit as a vital member, please give them a visit
My email is mcdougall.alan@yahoo.com is you are interrested in cummunicating with me privately.
By the way I have also had a profound near death experience if you have any interrest in that kind of phenomenon
