ASU has very politely, professionally, and quickly answered my question:
"Yes, we're about 86 CTX volumes behind, but we're downloading slowly) as I write. When that's done, these volumes will be processed and made available. This will take several days to complete. If you still see problems after Friday, don't hesitate to contact us again, but I expect resolution before then.
Thank you,"

Aha, there is a better quality version of the CTX pic available as a jpeg2000 image. (Thanks to Keith Laney for that tip). I had downloaded the tif version.
You can download the jp2 image yourself to view on the IAS viewer at this link (just right click on the browse image and "save target as":

I don't really see how this image proves anything. I downloaded the full-res image myself, and it's totally inconclusive. I could see how it might disprove the existence of these features. Just because we can find the location of what was thought to be artworks in a low res image, in a high res image, doesn't necessarily mean that it proves something.
Show it to someone who's never seen any of this stuff before. Tell them what you think it is, and then see what they think.

I'm having trouble downloading the JP2 image maybe I need new software. Any suggestions? In the meantime, could you crop a couple of images with different variations of contrast and brightness and encompassing a little more of the surrounding terrain?
Thanks,
Neil

All is not lost. The CTX images are not hi-res in the sense that I was thinking. They are 6m/pixel context images for the HiRise:

So this was a meaningless exercise.
