You know, it's interesting, when we were kids growing up, the party-line on Neil in the family was that "he was one-track minded". Everybody used to say Neil had a one-track mind. Naturally, as a kid I didn't know if that was true or what it meant, but I think I know now what they were talking about. I wouldn't say that would be the best way to explain it though. One-track minded implies only one subject of interest.
I would say he was "single-minded" or resolute, on any subject he believed in, or was interested in at the time. As in: Neil was single-minded in his belief that there were artworks on Mars, and that the faces he was seeing were not pareidolic in nature.
That's not something I was going to crack, no matter how logical my argument seemed to me. But it was fun for awhile, and I think we stirred up some interest, up to a point.
