I did say the "constellation" business was a speculation, and I guess it's always open season on speculations. So I have no problem with that.

Of interest to me in this case were the “bright spots” or “shiny mounds.” If you go to the links you’ll see that the MRO image is only about 5 miles from the Nefertiti object. I had also seen the same kind of spots in other nearby MOC images. I therefore assumed that we now had hi-res confirmation of them, which is always good to have.

I have something I’m going to show in the next two days that I am definitely claiming artificiality for—smoking gun artificiality—but today’s post is not it. Today’s post is interesting to me mainly because I’m beginning to agree with those who say that as we get more detail, it gets more difficult to claim artificiality and to argue against pareidolia. Without meaning to hurt anyone’s feelings, I think the vast majority of Trinket’s posts seem like obvious pareidolia to me, and I’m trying to distance myself from them, but I can’t really, I guess it’s in my blood now.

I would rate my posts today at around 50-50, artificial verses natural. Only the strong leanings built up over time in looking at some of the best faces and other objects we’ve seen makes me think these may be art—however strange.

Here are some images of Cerberus Fossae Fracture released recently:

And some faces in or near the fracture:

<br />And 10 million years from now they will have evolved info spacefaring creatures more advanced than us in every way. Damn! You know, I gotta admit, when you discard reason and objectivity the answers are a lot easier to come by and its a helluva lot more fun too. (Note to Moderators: This is not ridicule. Its an <i>a priori</i> prediction)JR<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote">As the kids would say: "<b><i>That's</i></b> what I'm talking about.

Just because something evokes a certain amount of humor, doesn't make it ridicule.

Here are some faces from Aureum Chasma. These are similar to many of the faces I have posted in this and other threads, in that they show some detail, human-like proportions, orientation, and shading—to varying degrees. I made a key for one of them, but now that we have high resolution images they are easier to see, along with all the imperfections and doubts, to be sure. If these are artificial, or even if some of them are, then the artists most definitely made use of the natural terrain and modified it in some way in creating them.

Here is Aureum Chasma Face 1.

Face 2, smaller face from the head of F 1 as we often see.

Face 3.

Face 4.

Face 1 reduced.

F 1 key.

(Edited)

When looking at these faces in hi-res, scale is as important as keys are. Sometimes we have to back up and look, or use a special lens, as in the case of the Woodstock Spool art shown in my elaborate pareidolia thread.

Here are the same faces indicated and shown from a little distance, that is, at a somewhat smaller scale. It is interesting that they are clustered together in one spot.

Trinket's last image is of course the south oriented version of the terrain from Aureum Chasma that I found north oriented faces in in the post above. There are some hints here of south oriented faces, and there has been precident for this in other places, such as the south oriented Crownface figure inverted in the north oriented Barbara figure. But we need to see more detail and form in higher resolution close-ups for confirmation.

(edited Aug. 12) The referred to images by Trinket have been deleted.)
