We have similar concerns. However, this particular forum is reserved for discussions specific to the topic of the Big Bang. But all that means is that this discussion needs to move to a different forum.
Tom was reluctant to encourage such discussions even though he knew this phenomenon has a serious influence on the doing of science. Now that I'm in control, it is my decision. And I have decided to create a forum specific to such issues. It is named Big Science and Big Government, located in the category of General Matters. If anyone has trouble seeing it, let me know.
One problem with doing this is that it will most likely attract a different kind of member. People with little or no interest in science. Perhaps time will show that Tom was wise and I am foolish. But the current members of this message board have been, mostly, superior citizens. I am proud of this community. And I suspect that if we have a few bad actors show up, we will be able to handle them.
