Why doesn't the moon leave earth's orbit?

Don't you have to facture in the air pressure, gravity(just on earth), place where tide is on earth, There is tide everywhere so how can youy explain that? i am confused about earth/moon/sun sharing each other orbits with the moon, or are you saying that because the earth is in the suns orbit than the moon can be also counted in the suns gravity through the earth. wouldn't the moons orbit be an eliptical one if it shares it with the sun?

There are a lot questions about tides and gravity, but my question is in the basic calculation where it is said the tidal force is a 3rd power force. It is well established that models based on this assumption work very well-my point is this in no way proves a 3rd power law is governing tides and in fact there is no 3rd power law pertaining to tides.

What's your definition of a tide?

My idea of tide is the height of the water from sea level or the height of a section wave(micro size or not)

Thats fine and what causes tides to be that way? The part of tides that is gravity powered is all I'm trying to get right. The wind and pressure causes tides for sure too.

are you trying to find how much of the tide isa ctually gravity? if so then you can use some math to do not well enough.
