Ed has some points that make sense it is just that he is so verbose and trys too hard to get noticed. What difference does it make who he is-he maybe Patrick returning from wherever he went. What happened to AB?

Tom,
I hereby make the case for Ed's immediate dismissal. Please read similar gibberish by "Ed van der Meulen" at nnw.sourceforge.net/docs.php/intro-math .
To this end, select "Edit" -> "Delete Post" -> "User" -> "Ed" -> "Select All" and "OK".

I had already switched from reading and thinking about each of it's posts to just skimming them. I've recently skipped a few and will skip more as time grows.
Jim - I kind of agree with you, in the sense that whoever is operating this program is using it, at least in part, to express some ideas. However, he (through it) hasn't done well so far. IMO.
What if it has the power to learn? And Change? It might be educational to observe such behavior. It might be fun. Someone, some day, is going to write one of these programs that can do this, and surprise the hell out of us.
***** (Ed - can you make it grow???) *****
Although I have seen no obvious evidence of such powers, it might be worth while to go back over it's posts to see if there is any evidence that doesn't just leap out at you. I started skimming at about the half way point, so I could easily have missed it if it is there.

So, are you guys saying Ed is somekind of mirror that someone is constructing in cyberspace? That is a very interesting concept- what is the harm in being fooled by someone? If that in fact is the case.

Jim,
Really, I have no problems with Ed, but he just talked too incoherently and flooded this board in no time, hence he is likely to be a spambot.
Ed, are you there? If so, a simple "yes" will do. []

I too vote for moving all of Ed's posts to a single thread, because it certainly disrupts the flow of normal conversation/dialogue here.
Also, I don't think there's even much we can learn about the quality of bot's programming itself, because we have no idea how often a real person intervenes/tweaks the responses to make it look more human.
Also, I would not call this AI. There's nothing intelligent about it at all.
