He is from way back in the 50s and wrote well about stuff like ET and space beings. Mostly he was a guy that had a good imagination and told stories.

No disrespect Jim but it seems a lot of the scientific establishment thought this way about him, ridiculing left right cnetre-even though he did put forward a scientifically based case and never in my opinion was as way out as some people.

Anyway, why was carl sagan not ostricized like vel was when he co-authored a proposition by some bloke called pickering about martians building their water canals on the moon - now thats insane!!!

Yet what happened to sagan? nothing, he is regarded as one of the best astronomers around.

cheers

Why is this guy or that guy of great interest at all? Is there a charisma effect these guys have or what? Carl Sagan was a TV star and Velikosky did books.

Re Velikovsky :
Dig, very much! Writing is superb, content fascinating, theories ALL backed up - a far cry from most stuff spouted today. His writing of our last periodic catastrophe about 1450 BC is spot on, except for Venus, a planet that suddenly appeared out of the blue (?) after gloom and doom of some 25 sunless years : V assumed Venus was responsible for the catastrophes. Zeta jumped on the band wagon in the 90's, became a sort of champion, used V to promote their disinfo campaign set up by NASA. "Brown" is the operative word, but not a planet, rather a 'dark' star scarcely visible, in fact our TWIN sun, NOT the danger itself but what it PROPELS in front of it, i.e. a comet cluster. I understand the next visit of this dark star is between NOW and 2012. Anybody's guess!
