Tom,
Adding to Larry's comments: Perhaps a standard endnote would suffice with the number actively taking the viewer to the site...for paper readers then they would simply reference the endnote as they see fit. This would ease writing for you too because MSWORD 07 has an excellent reference keeping subroutine. Then saving that file to PDF cancels out the printing, viewing, and file size issues.

Neil,

Text in these threads usually wraps at the edge of the view window, unless there is an object like a picture that is fixed width and wider than your window is at the moment.

I don't remember this thread having this problem before. It has no pictures in it now, but I did copy and paste some text from the MRB to illustrate how a URL can distort text. Perhaps something in that text is acting like a fixed width picture?

When I get some time I'm going to experiment with some edits to that post to see if I'm right.

But we've received a lot of feedback on the current issue, and most people with IE7 and low or medium screen resolutions are having a sprawl problem with the first full article. Firefox and Safari have no such problem, nor does IE7 at my 1600x1200 screen resolution.

Getting displays to work for different versions of different browsers at different screen resolutions is a nightmare. Is there such a thing as "safe code" that works properly on everyone's computer? -|Tom|-

I was referring to the current MRB issue, not the text in these threads, (if I understand you right). Tom answered the question. He added a PDF version after I printed the Bulletin. I save the MRB so I like to have a printed copy.

Thanks,

Neil

Interesting - in this thread I'm seeing the text extend off of the right end of the window (so that I have to use the scroll bar at the bottom to read the entire line). If I widen my browser window a little more than usual the problem goes away.

In most threads (for example Tom's "Sneak Peaks"), the text will wrap to fit the window width no matter how narrrow or wide you make the window.

I take it others are not seeing a display problem in this thread?

BTW, I should say that I see this problem only on the first page of this thread. The second page (this one) is working normally. I can make it as narow as I want, and the text will wrap to fit the window instead of forcing a scroll bar at the bottom.
