Ring around the Milky Way

This may not be important but the image in your message (dholeman) show a blueish ring of stars. According to a similar article [url] www.space.com/scienceastronomy/milkyway_ring_030106.html [/url] the stars in this 'ring' consists mainly of 'old' stars which are usually reddish is colour.
Nethertheless an interesting discovery. It may mean a rethink of the theories on how galaxies formed.
