E=mc^2 represents a moment in time, an event.

There is something missing which would indicate a string of events, the passing of time, something that would give direction to the flow of energy.

I think Gravity (rate of entropy) is missing from the equation.

Einstein's equation states how much energy is available in matter, but does not indicate how this availability changes with time.

The balance between energy and matter has been changing constantly from the very beginning of time.

If the quantity of energy and matter varies with time, then "c^2" has to vary.

All motions of matter in the universe are possible at the expense of energy.

Once matter is created, what other direction can it take than to lose energy? The process can be slowed down, but never reversed.
Things do not become newer, we do not become younger.

Do you see things differently?

Matter is not created except in models like BB and while I have no ideas about how matter or anything got here the fact that matter and energy transform in both directions is true in my opinion. This never changes. The way mass and energy transform is what E=MC^2 begins to resolve but along the way the approximation got promoted to absolute and final authority whan it would be better if C^2 was left as "x". The effort expended over 70 years to make nature do what the model demands could have been more productive without the absolute value of C^2. The data that has been generated by that effort should be studied without that value influencing the result.

I like the way you write.
I would like to correct you on the first part of your reply:

Matter was created approximately 14 to 15 billion years ago shortly after the Big Bang. As Einstein's equation states, all there needs to be is a tremendous amount of energy. This was made available by an event which occurred shortly before the Big Bang:the complete rundown of the universe.

Billions of dollars have been spent towards this search of how the first moments were like.
