And after no "waves" are seen in conjunction with the next supernova event, which might be decades away, the criteria for a "match" between detectors will be loosened until matches are finally found. The current practice of funding this stuff is because models are generating bogus results that everyone believes are real. Why do the people who control the funding think it is in the best interest of everyone involved to keep redoing these experiments every few years? Is there no way to change the process? Maybe we have to wait until a better mouse trap gomes along.
