I have always thought the SETI project was an example of positive geopolitical scientific cooperation. I had a computer with a dedicated line at my previous residence that did nothing more than crunch their program 24/7 365 for 2 years. I felt like I contributed my part and it was like an interesting coffee table book for guests to see the computer in the living room and ask what it was for. MV
