I hope you will download this video I produced sometime back, it's a wonderful experience, almost like BEING THERE! As this is an anaglyph, you will of course need 3D glasses (the blue and red type only)

As I do get quite close here to the surface, you may experience some trouble focusing your eyes and if this happens, restart the video and take some time for eyes to become acquainted with the change in altitude.

As the scene progresses, you will start to scan an area of the north face of the Chasma and the ruins which are there, towards the end, you will see a wonderful area which shows huge statues in the background.

I have spent many hours (years in fact) traversing this amazing section of Hebes and can state here for the record, the slope here (approx 5km from the top) is an amazing tapestry of life. In fact, the entire image of this part of the Chasma wall is so loaded with life and artifacts, the researcher could spend several years on this one image alone. It is breathtaking once one arrives at its reality. Be patient and view with an open mind.

Below is but just one of the awesome creations by the life that is present in Hebes Chasma. I have named this beautiful creation "The Musician" for obvious reasons. In fact, his "head" here is the very peak of a mountainous protrusion (the Musician is not in the anaglyph btw).

<b>Ancillary data for MOC narrow-angle image M10-00081</b> there is something called "Scaled Image Height" and "Scaled Image Width" which tells us the size of the image swath on the planet's surface. Then if we don't do anything that loses data (like convert to a normal *.jpg file) when we view it at 100% we can figure out exactly how big the thing is.

I used to have HiView but recently did a factory restore on my computer. I'm familiar with how big these images are, but what I used to do is crop them without converting, until I had something manageable, while still retaining the original resolution.

I'm not sure I want to re-install HiView yet, at least until I figure out if I can find the land size of the image.

In your method, are you retaining the original pixel size from the massive file? Does creating a *tif file lose anything? In other words, at the zoomed in state in your video do you still have the original resolution of 25.7cm/pixel? If you are still at 25.7cm/pixel and your image is set to 100% I could just count pixels.

We recently moved to a new house and I know I have a pair, but right now would be problematical finding them. Maybe when I go out a little later today I will see if I can find a pair. I'll get back to you on this. But I will definitely view these two as soon as I find a pair of 3D glasses.

No, won't do much good to view without the glasses and I'm pretty sure you won't find them "out shopping". This is the old type Anaglyph but here is a link from Amazon. If you wear eyeglasses, you will need these clip-on's...very handy.

No, no data is lost in the .tif image as I do not compress from the JPED2000 Ok, I will upload the .tiff image for you to download, this way you will have the image already adjusted in Gamma and Contrast.

The .tif image is still pretty large 1.1gig so it will take a while for the upload. I will post here a link once it is complete and then you can download the file.

Btw, I do believe the HiView is no longer available. Also, I will try to find the MOC data file and post.
