Turpin,
I will attempt to explain...
If I am an author, and I am writing a book, the pages that I write in chapter 22 do not change the content of chapter 1, however, they often add to the readers understanding of the previous chapters. God expounded on what He had already revealed. The New Testament is the revelation of the new covenant that was prophesied in the Old Testament by the prophet Jeremiah. (Ch 31 vs 31-34). (See also Isaiah 42:1-9)
His Word did not change. It was elaborated upon. He is done elaborating. We have all that we need to know, and we know what He has said. His Word is the (absolute) truth and what He said will be and will come to pass. Just hang in there a little while longer and watch what happens… We’ll all be believers sooner or later. But it’s best if we don’t wait until we have to. (Understatement)
Romans 1:25 "They exchanged the truth of God for a lie..."

Apparently God said way too much, since the Church chose to edit out a large number of books in about 320 AD.

Oh, and the nice little change from ethnic cleansing(aka genocide) being acceptable, to "turn the other cheek".... yeah no change there at all. I mean, if we want to be technical, the genocide is okay, if the people you're attacking never harmed you first. Then it's not retaliation, and thus it's not covered by "turn the other cheek". Oh, and genocide is okay because if you purge the people for their own good, you're actually saving them from further damnation, and thus not actually killing them. Same goes for waging wars, killing first born(why not the elderly who actually had done bad things?).
Yep, no changes at all. I mean, it's not like anyone can tell ANY difference between Jews and Protestants......
Oh, and speaking of slaying the firstborn..... Why is abortion wrong when the only thing even close to abortion the bible mentions is god smiting a bunch of babies?
"Regret can only change the future" -Me

Considering this thread has continued so long I feel free to interject my thoughts without apology.
Abortion is not wrong, I think it should be retroactive in some cases. I am just grateful my mother did not hold the same view. The Constitution was designed to protect the Right to life of the unborn so it is Government sanctioning of abortion that is wrong not the individuals choice. Without a God our Rights are not so inalienable after all. How will the atheists react when their Right to freedom of speech is infringed, or lost? I guess only time will tell, until then, thank you for your time; Mom.

Although I tend to agree with many of the senetiments you guys are expressing, this is really the wrong place for such stuff.
I'm trying to get the unworthy one to stick to science, or at least science-like, topics. I'd like to find out if he or any of his coaches can come even a little close to a reasonable argument in favor of the GDIT.
Please help me.

Well I have appreciated this descent into the age old science versus religion debate, I feel like I have this discussion almost weekly. How about those who wish to continue this melee exchange email addresses and do so privately. The conversation has degenerated into abortion rights, politics, and opinions. Remember folks opinions are like rectums, everyone has one. Rectum
