hi Xterrester,
the image number is E17 - 01109... and stay tuned, one of these days I show you a fossile of a giant fish, a swastika, an ancient subterranean (or submartian) base, and a glyf which is too beautiful to be true! In each of these cases there is a sound logic behind it, and I haven't played with the MSSS/MOC images (I put them online this weekend I think).
In my young experience, some things which come back quite frequently:
- I see quite some faces accompanied with buildings (referring to my image and yours with the barracks)
and,
- I see some recurring 'road with buildings on one side'

Mosco,
I have also noticed faces in relation to structural areas, also in relation to these areas I frequently find something that looks like a row of symbols or alphabetic lettering of some type. I am assuming these symbols or lettering are identification for the areas, the name of a town perhaps. I have most often found a name that looks similar to UVUELA. The letters or symbols resemble our alphabet somewhat but also look different enough that I can only give a rough idea of what the Martian grouping of letters and symbols looks most similar to in our alphabet.
I wonder if somone who is fluent in Hebrew, Sumerian or some of the other ancient alphabets would find similarities.

Another small image that I feel is worth looking at. There are obvious structural shapes in the highlighted boxes. They are small but they are there.

Mosco,
I can post the unprocessed image for comparison if you like. I am not sure if I still have a link to the original image.
I found this image in the first JPL dump of 30,000 Mars images onto the internet. A number of them had the SP designation in front of the numbers. This image is the small one that was the preview strip on the main page with links beneath it that could be clicked to view the larger versions.
I have occasionally noticed, as with this image, that there are details visible in the small previews that are not visible in the larger versions. Curious, as I believe the larger versions should match the preview images.
Looking at these small versions can be very tedious as the details are hard to see even with a high-resolution crt moniter and a magnifying glass, (forget it if you are using a flatscreen.) Tedious, but also rewarding as there are amazing things to be found in some of these smaller images that are not in their larger versions.
If you haven't already done so take a good close look (with magnifying glass) at the middle area of this image. There is a rather amazing section of structural shapes laid out in very geometric patterns. I think this area could pass as a satellite image of a civilized area on Earth.
Back to the face phenomena, when I first started noticing the faces they really disturbed me and I suspected that they had been added in as a possible distraction from viewing what was really there. Or possibly they were meant as a kind of psyops intended to make the viewer question the reality of what was being seen ( I think it is human nature that we tend to reject an entire concept or image if any part of it seems ridiculous, and some of the Mars faces have a ridiculous aspect)
But if you consider all the faces and human-like forms that there are in civilized Earth areas, (Giant billboards at Times Square, giant dogs heads at the Doggie Diner, Giant Paul Bunyan by the highway going North to Oregon, Mount Rushmore, Macy's Thanksgiving Parade Characters and dozens of other examples of advertising or theme park displays, maybe it is logical to be finding all the faces in relation to areas of civilization on Mars.
It has also occured to me that since the surface of Mars is apparently desert-like, dusty and arid, perhaps it could even be described as being somewhat barren visually, lacking the diverse and beautiful (and also visually stimulating and pleasing) flora and fauna that inhabitants of planets like Earth have to enjoy, perhaps it is this relative barreness that created a desire in Martian civilizations to decorate their landscape, helping to fulfill the need that intelligent beings have for visual stimulation.
