I just realized this is the location of Scarface. Scarface is in the left third of the ESA context image indicated 144-161204-0360-4. I guess that could either be good or bad, depending on whether or not you're convinced Scarface was disproved.
It does look like the wrecked ship has some artificial features. This could be major if it gets imaged by the HiRise. One way or the other.

Here is the data for all of the West Candor Chasma objects I know of. Marsrocks has a few more possibles but I dont have the data for them. These can all be seen by either searching the raw data images at the links or by scrolling through past posts at this message board. The easiest to find would be in the Clean Copies and Keys threads.
An interesting project would be to see how many of these have been imaged by the CTX. Malin Space Science Systems has a tool for easily locating these co-ordinates if they have been imaged by the CTX camera. Many have. The benefit is that although the image resolution is only average for MOC image, the images take in a much wider context area. This allows us to see what the terrain looks like and also will give us confirmation images for some or many of the faces and artifacts previously posted but for which there has never been a confirmation image. Ill post the results time permitting. [Neil]

A search for interesting objects imaged by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter Context Camera (CTX) reveals that most of the possible artificial objects shown here previously have been re-imaged by the CTX camera.
global-data.mars.asu.edu/bin/ctx.pl?res=...6W&day_night=2&rel=0
The resolution is about as good as and sometimes slightly better than the original MOC image, but as already mentioned, the big improvement is that relatively high resolution context images are now available, so the viewer can get a good sense of the terrain and relative locations of the objects. In the next few postings I'll present a summary of what I found - both inside and outside "the chasmas."
In an unnamed small crater located within the Newton Crater, at 42S, 158W, sits an object Tom considered to be artificial, and appreciated for its lack of background noise. It is confirmed again here and shown in context. [Neil DeRosa]

I should also mention that this confirmation is consistent with all past images and ads to our knowledge by revealing a new possible artificial object in relation to the existing object.

I should also mention that this confirmation is consistent with all past images and ads to our knowledge by revealing a new possible artificial object in relation to the existing object.

Re: Scullface. The CTX image falsifies Levasseur's original interpretation and agrees with the later falsifying image. But this does not mean that the object can't be an artistic artifact, just that it is not what we thought it was. Another possibility is that shading, i.e. time of day, is a factor. We have often seen subtle changes in these art forms (if they are) at different times of the day. Scully's head seems to be turned in a different direction in the two interpretations. [Neil]
