<br />Malcolm,
You have in fact stated on several occasions that you believe you have the so-called smoking gun.
And NO I am not going to try to quote chapter and verse.
You left that impression. Deal with it.
<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote">That's what I thought.

<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote">
Sorry gentlemen, you may have gotten that impression but as I have stated many times, these are my interpretations. I HAVE NEVER SAID I HAVE A SMOKING GUN AND HAVE ADVISED YOU ALL SEVERAL TIMES THAT "YOU" ARE LOOKING FOR THE SMOKING GUN. So please quote me correctly.....no matter, I will give you the benefit of the doubt as I am convinced that on the surface of Mars, there is a compilation of evidence in many forms that has led me to conclude that there appears to show a civilization that has or is on the surface of Mars. DO I HAVE IRREFUTABLE EVIDENCE? NO, it does not exist until such time as we can go there and inspect at close range with all the science at our disposal to conclude unequivocally.
So please, can we try to remove this very apparent animosity you seem to harbor towards me. Thank you.
In the image below which was clipped from ESP_013838_1695 I have highlighted and inverted a square subsection. In this area, there is an anthropomorphic figure, which by my calculations is several ten's of meters high that clearly shows a person/creature/statue/ or otherwise a representation of the external form of a person or thing in art.
In addition to this, (in this larger MRO image file) there appears to be several similar representations spattered about the Melas plains.
I'm sorry but this IS what I see, my wife see's the same and so do many others which have looked at this image.
What WE see, is a small person-like figure with a proportionate head with a defined face. The figure is sitting or squatting down with its right leg tucked in and its right arm covering its right leg to some degree. Its left leg is extended and appears to have footwear of sorts on the base of that leg proportionate to the size of a foot. The head appears to have a covering of sorts possibly to either define hair or a hat. The facial features can be seen and are that which does NOT exhibit human features.
You can chop this up, cover it up, make it out to be a figment of someone's imagination or...let me see, perhaps it's a rock that by some unknown reason, has created a boulder to somehow...look like one.
Is this irrefutable evidence that life exists on Mars...no of course not. BUT...WHEN YOU TAKE THE TIME TO PERUSE THE SURFACE AT VERY CLOSE MAGNIFICATION, YOU WILL FIND MANY OF THESE ANTHROPOMORPHIC ENTITIES.
So you see, it is NOT any one smoking gun...it IS an amass of evidence that leads a reasonable person to reasonably conclude that in all likelihood, there seems to be an intelligence about it.
AND....we are looking at MARS....and in my book, if there is NO life there (as per the current model) then this kind of compilation SHOULD NOT BE THERE....PERIOD!

Yes, I can see that.

Another reasonable person might conclude that even though it is an interesting image it is, most likely, an illusion of one sort or another. That same reasonable person would withhold judgement until additional evidence was available.
Just like she does for most of the other images that are on display here.
