Neil, those are great moc image presentations of this feature. I'm going to have to pick your brain about your methods at some point.
So far as I can tell, Hirise has not attempted to take an image of Nefertiti yet. I'm taking it as a good sign that the CTX has hit the area so many times, and perhaps, they want to be sure they get a good shot of it with hirise.
One other thing to consider is, with numerous images of the same area, the nasa ames superresolution software is available to nasa to combine these images into a very high resolution shot - if they should choose to do so.

If taken that would definitively cover the area in question, and we would see the whole scene in hi-res.
Up til now, I've been giving them the benefit of the doubt, just in case there was a time of year issue. But recently (Mar 24, 2009) they imaged an area just to the east of mine (the image is listed as *pending release*, #ESP_012560_1660), about the width of the original MOC M0305549 to the east of the Nefertiti scene. While I've always been curious what's there because it's "behind" Nefertiti, I'm not so sure it will add to the story.
So, the fact that they were there and didn't do mine, may mean they don't intend to. That's unfortunate because it plays right into the conspiracy theories. I really think it would behoove them to acquire my suggestion, and I may start writing and calling them to try and get a definitive answer.

Thanks MR, these are the same images I've been posting. I never add data to the original raw data images (wouldn't know how), except brightness and contrast, so the detail is essentially the same, unless my software (Coral Paint Pro X) does some automatic smoothing when I increase size. The yellow version of the PI is simply one of the "colorizing" options. The Key is made by basically doing a "white-out" on the background with the white paint brush.
The frame is one of the frame options. I'll admit it takes some practice, and I used to paint portraits as a hobby. [Neil]

I think about what you said in the past (a couple of times I think) that if "they" didn't believe in the artificiality hypothesis, sometimes "they" sure act as though they did. Or maybe it's simply a matter of NASA wanting to control the agenda. I mean, if they image Nefertiti in hi-res, and it looks very artificial and very much like real art, that would be a big story. It might even be breaking news. I hope Im wrong but I dont think they want that to happen yet.
Something else Tom said (or maybe it was you); there are obviously those in the official research field who favor an open discussion, who knows, maybe they have more influence than we suspect. The conspiracy theorist in me says that when they image it, IF it looks like art they won't release it. But if it helps to falsify the artificiality hypothesis, they will probably release it. Only time will tell. [Neil]

Interesting information about Nefertiti, I'll pass it on to JP Levasseur.
