As I said, my image comes directly as is, from the JP2 Anaglyph downloaded from hirise.lpl.arizona.edu/PSP_002841_1740

I was trying to match up with precise lines, your image to mine, but was unable to. You drew a big circle on the grayscale image, but that doesn't help lining them up.

Rich, I'm not sure specifically what you are trying to "line up" here. The images I posted have quite extreme magnification so give me a little more info here and will be glad to help.

I too downloaded the file(s) from HiRISE but these are the two stereo files and not their anaglyph JP2. Yes, their anaglyph does show the terrain in the same topography but my point was, when I see this, their anaglyph topography does not make any sense in respect to the sheer "thickness" of the "<i>arte</i> like" mountain ridges. <i>Arte</i> mountain ridges, on Earth are formed typically by glacier movements and can't see that happening here. Even on Earth, these type of ridges get no where close to being that thin. This is very strange.

Here's a super mag of the very tip (pit) with a 30% reduction in the contrast. Interesting bolder now can now be observed.
