Nice crops of the head there and yes it does look like it has been undercut. Seems we get a about the same amount of view from a higher perspective in the new image S20. The head is very interesting and since first mentioning it I see more of a complete head rather than just a profile, the profile of the face being quite distinct while the back of the head looks more like it has undergone some abuse, very phantom of the opera like.... Note how the eye is very defined in all three crops.
But yes the animal analogy fits very well especially in view of some theories regarding other geoglyphs on Mars...
Jim Miller, You can find anything if you want to!

Up-Date
On August 22, 2009, on the fourth anniversary of MSSS release of Wil Fausts Parrotopia image as the Image of the Day (the very day that George Haas and William Saunders appeared on Coast to Coast) - Keith Laney revealed a previously unknown third image of the parrot.
According to Mr. Laney he requested this image and received it a couple years ago via the MSSS targeting program. However, although the image was taken back in December 2005, it wasnt released via the public program, but was in the last data dump, which MSSS did nothing with but deliver to the PDS.
PDS link (scroll down to the 8th MOC strip): alderaan.arc.nasa.gov/pdsimages/select?q...22moc-na%22&start=50
So, we now have three images that verify Wils parrot formation: M1402185, S1301480, and S2000165.

Zip Monster, thanks for posting that. I just checked, and the image now comes up on Google Earth 5.0 Mars, and leads to this link below at ASU, which has a very nice PNG of it:

This higher resolution image confirms what we previously thought about both the parrot and the big face. At 1.42 m/p the big face is particularly impressive, with different textures for the various parts of the face, plus shading which corresponds to a human profile. I may be imagining it but the eye feature seems to have even better detail than in earlier images. Here are two crops from S1301480. [Neil]
Here's a composite with the original M1402185 image to show the whole face and that the new image is a good confirmation. Unless otherwise noted, my enhancements are limited to colorizing and contrast and brightness; no new detail is added.

Is there any significance to the August 22 date, or is it just coincidence?
