Hello Jim,

How are you?
What do you mean... there is no link between temperature and energy?

Please have a look at this web link:

Hi GD, In the planck constant E=hf-no temp connection with energy. In E=mc^2-no temp connection with energy. In the 2nd law of thermodynamics temp is connected with heat but energy is not. Energy is not related to temp. Let me know if this makes any sense. Some times or most times most people confuse heat and energy.

Hello Jim,

Max Planck tries to address the irreversibility of systems in his book: "The Theory Of Heat Radiation"

books.google.ca/books?id=5C5wSPs2XCYC&dq...wqrIQSAw&hl=fr&prev=

(sorry for this long link, I am not sure this is going to work)

I am assuming his equation sums up what is written in this book.
-Give me some time to do a bit of reading-

I think I have it:
Go to chapt.2, page 16 "Fundamental Facts and Definitions"

"... every light ray is simultaneously a heat ray..."

Energy and heat are related

GD, Temperature is a measure of heat but not energy. Heat is a result of the interaction of energy with matter and is measured in units of joules. The temperature and pressure dimensions are not heat. A real problem exicts because these tools are misused. There is a limited range of energy that can be used for heat and the laws for heat are not the laws of energy. The heat laws don't work beyond the limits they were designed for.

Heat is a result of the interactions of energy... period.

What are your comments on Max Planck's book. Do you think some of the text is incorrect?

Jim,

Heat is the result of the interactions between forms of energy.
Matter is a form of energy.

I will post again a web link on the definition of subatomic particles:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subatomic_particle

And bring your attention to this sentence:

"Energy and matter we have studied from Einstein's hypotheses are analogous: matter can be austerely denoted in terms of energy."

What are your thoughts on this?
