This is an actual bug in the directions. The file you are looking for was moved up front, and is listed with the other files in alphabetical order. -|Tom|-

You are looking for the file "PowerPlugs player.exe". There is no longer a "Presentations" folder. -|Tom|-

north,
Do you know how to take a "screen shot" (create a copy of what your screen looks like) and attach it to an email?

sorry for not answering sooner. in an answer to your question , no i have no idea how to do this.
but perhaps a little discription of what i see might help, on the left side there is a list of folders(symbol is there which also it seems, includes file although they to have a folder smybol beside them), on the right are a list of folders and files in a larger form but the difference being that the folders are more distinguisable from the files, it is very obvious.

north,
One of the things I learned from helping my friend is that word descriptions of what someone sees on a computer screen are almost never useful for remote control help. But we can try. (I'll add some instruction for emailing a screen shot later. Even if we don't use it someone else might.)
It sounds like you are using a program called Windows Explorer. It has the left/right display windows you describe.
Regards,
LB

Windows Explorer Basics / the Left Side
("click" - press the left mouse button once)
("double click" - press the left mouse button twice, rapidly)
("right click" - press the right mouse button once)
=== Left Side (Drives, Folders, Printers, Network - BUT NO FILES)
The left side of this program shows what is called a "tree view" of the various drives (and the directories, AKA "folders") in each drive.
*) Each entry in the left side should have a small plus sign or minus sign just to the left of the entry. The plus sign means that that particular entry has some stuff inside it.
(NOTE - there are occasionally exceptions to this rule. I suppose this is a bug that Bill isn't interested in fixing because it has been there since at least W95. If the plus sign just changes to a minus sign, or just goes away, and no more entries appear indented below, then you know it was a "false plus".)
*) If you click on the plus sigh the stuff inside that entry will appear indented below the entry. And the plus sign will turn into a minus sign.
*) Clicking a minus sign next to an entry will cause anything displayed below that entry to no longer be displayed. And turn the minus sign back into a plus sign. (The stuff is still there, it just isn't displayed anymore.)
Note that if you point to any of the entries on the left side and click it, it will be highlighted (default highlight color is blue). If you point to a different entry and click it, the highlight will move to the most recently clicked entry.
And, whichever entry on the left side is highlighted has it's contents displayed in the window to the right.

LB
