Actually what you are describing is mainstream thinking. Its called the Big Bang theory. Again, I disagree with the Big Bang Theory, and have repeatedly stated that Gravity which you stated is the reason for the Galactic clustering is far too immediate a force that connects with all things and that the cause of gravity has far reaching implications that defies the notion that nothing can go faster than the speed of light and indicates that extreme pressures exist between higher and lower dimensions creating this arc of energy release. So I disagree with your model, I am going surfing gonna ride da kine waves, so see ya later, Aloha.

sure pressure produces heat therefore atoms become more energetic.
the depleted state of the atom comes more from the cooling of high energy plasma than it does from gravity. for gravity to take hold the atom must decrease its energy, otherwise the energy is to great for gravity to have any influence. if there was NO cooling or lower energy state for plasma, gravity being very weak would have no chance to influence the dynamics of plasma.(remember plasma is electromagnetics,electric currents,heat,electrons,ions etc.).
thats the thing about matter, it is plasma at different stages of energy.
and lower state plasma can in time, become again, a higher energy form of plasma. it is recycled.
we can if you like look at this from the extreme point of view.
lets say that gravity is stronger than high energy plasma, in that case, nothing would happen(galaxies,stars,planets etc.) since plasma would never have the chance to over come gravity and go to a lower energy states(particle) and therefore matter could never become. and we know that matter is high energy plasma(non-particle) in a lower energy state(particle). so therefore assuming gravity does exist it only has influence at low energy states.
so the depletion of the atom has more to do with temp. pressure, velocity and enviroment in which it resides than with gravity.
